Growing Businesses Foundation was founded and is run by professionals with in-depth, relevant experience of project development and delivery in the BOP environment, capacity building for BOP clients, microenterprise and microfinance development.

GBF is led by Dr. Ndidi Nnoli-Edozien and Jelili Alarape.

Dr. Ndidi Nnoli-Edozien, Chairperson and Founder

Dr. Ndidi Nnoli-Edozien is an Angel investor who has dedicated a major part of her life to building entrepreneurs and helping thousands of people at the bottom of the economic pyramid (BOP) in Nigeria live better lives.

Her passion for economic, social and business development in Africa led her to start up Growing Businesses Foundation (GBF) almost 2 decades ago. With hard work, successful partnerships and team work, she has led the team at GBF to impact thousands of people at the BOP by collaborating with the public and private sector on multiple economic empowerment projects across Nigeria worth over N1billion.

Ndidi’s belief and passion for African entrepreneurship is unrelenting. To this effect, she collaborated with a group of seasoned women investors and entrepreneurs to co-found Rising Tide Africa (RTA) in 2016. RTA has invested and nurtured women entrepreneurs in Africa. She also started Growing Businesses Capital which focuses on early stage investment.

Her works in social entrepreneurship have been recognized by Bertelsmann AG, Germany. She is an alumnus of the Wharton Business School. She holds a B.Sc. (Economics), with a Major in International Relations from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a PhD from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany.

Ndidi sits on the board of ABN Microfinance Bank, Interswitch Inclusion, Sahara Foundation, ICT for Youth and ANAP Foundation. She is also an Advisory Board member of the Nigerian Private Sector Advisory Group (PSAG), which stemmed from the Global PSAG – UN SDG-Fund

She has served on various private sector-led Presidential Committees and supported worthy initiatives like the NESG. She has spoken at conferences worldwide and has published books in Nigerian and German on Corporate Governance, Sustainability and Igbology.

Seyi Dare, (Communications & Sustainability)

‘Seyi’s professional work experience spans Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, Consulting and presently Social Development. He is a graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. A program specialist with demonstrated and effective guidance in the areas of program development and execution that delivered high-impact results at the Base of the Pyramid (BOP), creating better conditions for economic growth including development of practical monitoring and evaluation tools and impact assessment reporting; with proficiency in organizational capacity management, project & program management, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and Human Resource Management.

His interest and voluntary endeavors has earned him certificates from the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) which includes; Conflict Analysis, Negotiation & Conflict Management and Interfaith Conflict Resolution; Peacekeeping Operations Training Institute (POTI), UK. He has attained the “Professional Level” of the USIAD Global Elearning Health Centre having been successful in over 30 certificate Courses and amongst the top 98 percentile of the Centre globally.

He is a member of several professional establishments which include the Project Management Institute (PMI), USA and the British Project Professional (BPP) Society, UK; Chartered Institute of Project Management (CIPM), Ghana; Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM, USA and also Nigeria Chapter); Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM, Nigeria) and holds positions of Associates in the Institute of Chartered Economist of Nigeria (ICEN) and is Chartered by the Chartered Institute of Project Management (CIPM), Ghana where is holds the credentials of Chartered Project Management Professional (CPMP); PRINCE2 and PMD Pro 2 (Project Management for Development) Practitioner of the APM Group, UK.

Seyi, an audition judge in “The Entrepreneur TV” (TETV) series Season 2; and has served in various capacities in Growing Businesses Foundation and is presently the Program Director, Sustainability & Communications. He is a credentialed Project Management Professional (PMP). He holds an MBA in Human Resource Management (HRM) from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso. Mr. Dare lectures in The Redeemed Christian Bible College (RCBC) from which he has earned a Master of Arts (MA. TH.) in Christian Leadership Studies (CLS). Oluseyi is at present a PhD. candidate of the same Institution; and a registered United Nations (UN) Volunteer with the United Nations Organization (UNO).

Jelili Alarape

Jelili is a financial accounting professional, with varied expertise in management of financial portfolios. His proficiency in business & non-profit pecuniary management recently led to him becoming the Program Director Ag. Finance & HR of the Growing Businesses Foundation (GBF); a leading nonprofit organization in Nigeria, having served a couple of years as Finance Coordinator of the same organization.

Prior to joining GBF, Alarape worked with Fabio Enterprise for 2 years, between 2002 and 2004 where he commenced his career in financial management consequent to serving as the Head of the Accounts Unit. Jelili’s development has translated into proven capability in business research and analysis, financial reporting, business strategy and development, entrepreneurship , project development, risk management, cost and management accounting, taxation, auditing, professional liaison, financial and strategic management, investment and financial advisory,

With several years experience in financial planning and analysis including both technical and managerial positions in the diverse, dynamic and rapidly changing nonprofit environment. He is skilled and creative in the design and development of financial systems for development programs and in organizing large amounts of data into meaningful management reports.

Insufficient space and tailoring machines to enhance production was resolved with a fully repaid facility of N300, 000.00 obtained from Development Exchange Centre (DEC) in 2007 her supporting organization. He has been recipients of several received a loans from DEC of including but not limited to N1m in 2011 and did present with any has not defaulted
